This first annual Photography competition and show will focus on a visual arts inspiration in one of three selected categories that photo images may be entered.
Spirit of Ionia
Capture an image that reflects the Spirit of Ionia.
This could represent ... people, places, things, events, etc.
A single image or a montage...
Nature & Rural Life
Images of nature or rural life ... in the form of Animals, Birds, Floral, Landscapes, Lakes & Streams & Shoreline, Bridges & Barns & Country Roads...
Ionia Free Fair
The World's Largest Free Fair has been a beloved icon in our community for 96 years.
Seeking unique images of the "Fair" experience ...
Contest Rules:
Photography
Color Photography, Black & White Photography, 35mm and/or digital computer enhanced images.
Image created by the registered Photographer within the last year (August 1, 2010)
Size: MINIMUM ... 5" x 7" with frame cannot exceed 8" x 10"
MAXIMUM ... 11" x 14" with frame cannot exceed 16" x 20"
Prints must be mounted and framed and ready to hang. They must have a wire hanger.
Photography will be displayed on free standing wire display panels.
All pre registered entries must be received between 5:30pm - 6:30pm at the event check in tent on the grounds of the Music on The Green series (adjacent to the Ionia First United Methodist Church).
Photography must be displayed from 7pm - 9pm, Tuesday Evening, August 2, 2011 to be eligible for the prize.

All Entries must be pre registered. No Entry Fee. Limit of One Entry per Person.
The Contest and Exhibition is limited to the first 30 entries.

Name, home address, phone number, (email address, if available) of the Photographer is required, along with the category the photo image best reflects.
Photographer
Must be a resident of Ionia County.
Age: of High School age and Older.
Judging
Contest judges shall determine 3 winners & compliance with contest rules.
Judging of photography will be based on best presentation within each theme category.
Winners will be announced at the end of the concert that evening.
All decisions of the judges are final.
Inclement Weather
The Photography display will be outdoors, but will be moved inside the Ionia First United Methodist Church in case of inclement weather.
Location decision will be made by 5:30pm the day of the concert.
Ionia First United Methodist Church shall not be responsible for loss or damage from any cause whatsoever. Members of Ionia First UMC may register to display their photography, but are not eligible to win a cash prize.
