On Sunday 9/25/2011 Paul Stock, a missionary who ministers in Pakistan, gave us a taste of a Pakistani Christian Service. He led us in songs (some in a Pak language) and even dance. Sunday September 18th at 7 PM there was a "Kick-Off" concert in our sanctuary , for Community Awareness Week. The concert featured IHS students and alumni. A freewill offering was held during the concert to benefit the Ionia Commission on Aging in its fight against cancer. Click HERE for videos ... Music on the Green 2011 started on Tuesday, June 14th, featuring the Ionia High School Jazz Band! Click HERE for videos ... On Good Friday (April 22) there was a special service at 12 noon with guest speaker Drew Spanding, founder of "Big Ticket Festival". Videos from that service can be viewed by clicking HERE ... On Sunday (April 17) our choir presented the Easter Cantata: "A Time for Alleluia" at both our Traditional and Contemporary Services. A video can be viewed by clicking HERE ... On November 6 the 4th Annual Ionia Pipe Organ Festival was held in our Sanctuary. Video selections can be viewed by clicking HERE ... On Sept. 19 Brill Family & Friends gave a concert in our sanctuary for the benefit of the Pipe Organ Festival. Videos from the concert can be viewed by clicking HERE ... The Ionia High School Jazz Band went, once again, to Detroit to participate in the International Jazz Festival on Labor Day. At our West Michigan Annual Conference, our church received the Helen Smith Hunger Award. This award recognizes one mid-size church in our conference who is outstanding in working to fight hunger in our community and around the world.

It is truly impressive that Ionia First has provided a weekly Soup Kitchen in Ionia for 16 years and collected the most funds for the Crop Walk for so long that we’ve lost track! So rejoice! Press on! It is clear that Ionia First has been a leader in mission giving and how the Conference knows about it, too!

Habitat for Humanity Ionia Area Habitat for Humanity is a Christian housing ministry. Their goal is to build homes with families and sell houses at cost and no interest to families who are in need. Ionia First Pastor Larry Brown is on the board of this organization. Visit their website for more information	Soup Kitchen Since 1991 Ionia First has made and served a wholesome community dinner once a week in our Fellowship Hall. All are welcome to join us every Monday night at 6 PM. To volunteer to help in this program contact: Joan MacDonald
Food Pantry We at Ionia First, along with many other local churches and organizations, donate food and funds to this important group. Housed at our sister church, Zion United Methodist Church, the Ionia Food Pantry helps to meet the nutritional needs of our community. The pantry is open Tuesday and Wednesday from 3:30 to 5:30 For More information call: 616-527-1910	Christian Service Center Located on Main St. here in Ionia (next to the Ionia Theatre) The Christian Service Center distributes clothing and household items to the community. Ionia First helps to staff center every fourth Wednesday of the month.
Visit their website for more details	The Friends of Jesus Fund was established in response to local churches in Ionia that were unable to assist with the expensive needs present in the community. Further difficulty came in determining the legitimacy of individual needs. Without wanting to abdicate the individual churches God-given responsibility to care for the needy, this fund was created so the faith community could band together to meet greater needs. EightCAP’s experience in doing adequate screening and needs assessment was welcomed as no individual church felt qualified for this work.
